usage of guide bush

The main function of guide bush is use to control the position of the tooling and guide the entering direction of tooling, so that we can get a good tolerance and deep hole drilling technical requirement. Sometimes we can change the spindle’s offset  to get a higher position accuracy, also the guide bush can check whether the size of the gun drill is right or wrong, that is to say, when using the tooling, put the tooling into the guide sleeve, whether it can pass through or not has greatly decrease the risk of using the wrong the size gun drilling tool.

The material of guide bush is according to the material of workpiece and deep hole drilling tool. Usually we will choose the carbide or alloy material, such as high speed steel, carbide gun drills. And under the normal condition, the material of the guide bush has already achieved a high hardness.(the common alloy guide sleeve’s hardness is HRC 58--65, and the carbide guide bush is very high to HRC89--93)
