Gun drilling tool, it’s the most common tooling in deep hole drilling, and for internal chip removing is the most obvious advantage, gun drills always with high processing efficiency,high processing quality and low using cost, so it has a wide using range in deep hole processing.
For the grinding of gun drill, it is very simple, and always by RMQ-B grinder,which can conveniently grind the each angle in gun drills.
Here, we’d like to have a brief introduction of the grinding:
1.When the drilling hole diameter is smaller than 5mm, the grinding angle of gun drill is as follows:
Remark: because of the small drilling hole diameter,it’s difficult to grind. And the drill bit tip should control within the 1/4 drilling hole diameter. 
2.When the drilling hole diameter is bigger than 5mm but smaller than 20mm, the grinding angle is as follows:
Remark:the width of the outer edge trimming blade should control within about 0.2mm, and uniform the width.
Drill bit tip should control within the 1/4 drilling hole diameter. And if you want to increase the drilling hole diameter, you can move the drill bit tip to 1/5 . And if you want decrease the drilling hole diameter,you can move the drill bit inside the drill bit tip.
If the drilling tool is overheat, and workpiece too hot, you can increase the grinding angle of the fourth blade surface so that we can enlarge the cutting oil and cooling.
3.When the drilling hole diameter is bigger than 20mm , the grinding angle is as follows:
Remark:the width of the outer edge trimming blade should control within about 0.25mm, and uniform the width.
The first and third blade surface’s angle has a very big influence towards the shapes of the chips. If increase the horizontal angle, then the cutting resistance will become small but the chips will be longer. Decrease the horizontal angle, then the chips will be shorter, it would be more easy to remove the chips. But under such kind of condition, the cutting force will increase.
