With the development of technology, gun drill is a typical structure of internal chip removing drilling method. It is reformed from the single-blade drill,the chips remove from the V shape drill shank. In this way, we can get a good cutting surface finish,high processing precision and good linearity.
According to the processing procedure, we can apply for the following method:
1.Drill a same hole diameter shallow hole before processing, which can guide and center the drilling . Also when the requirement towards the linearity is high, it’s important to drill a guide hole.
2.When installation and debugging the deep hole drilling machine, make sure that the center hole of the workpiece and drill stem center are on the same axis.
3.According to the material of workpiece, choose the proper cutting parameter to control the curl degree of iron chips, this we can easily to remove the chips. When processing the high degree hardness material, decrease the cutting speed. Feed volume has a great influence towards the shape of cutting irons, as a consequence, under the normal cutting condition, apply for a small feed volume.
4.In order to make the chip removing and coolant, we should keep a certain pressure and flow. When processing the small hole diameter, apply for high pressure and small flow; when processing the big hole diameter, apply for low pressure and large flow.
5. When drilling, start the oil pump first, then turn on the machine and feed. When the drilling is finished or broken, stop the feeding first, and then turn off the machine, stop the oil pump.
