Performance requirement towards the gun drilling tools

Performance requirement:

1. High hardness

   The hardness of  gun drilling tool must be higher than the hardness of workpiece, and normally, it is required to be higher than HRC60.

2. Enough intensity and ductility

   When drilling, there is a certain cutting force and impact, therefore, the drilling tools must has enough intensity and ductility to avoid the drill bit broken.

3. Good processibility

The cutting tool should has a good heat resistance, processing ability and weldability.

4. Good heat resistance

During the processing procedure, the temperature between the drill bit and workpiece is a little bit high, so under such a temperature, the drill bit should keep a good hardness, intensity, ductility and abrasion performance.
