Main questions that need to be solved in deep hole drilling

According to the characteristic of deep hole drilling, when design the deep hole drilling tool and deep-hole drilling system, we should consider about the following questions:

1. Coolant, lubrication and chip removing.

For deep hole drilling, it’s difficult to spread the heat and the chips are always not so easy to remove, so here we have to apply for forcing  coolant and forcing chip removing.

2. Handle of chips

Chip removing is an very important problem in deep hole drilling, especially for small hole diameter gun drill and internal chip removing BTA drill head, the chip removing space is small, and  it’s more difficult to remove the chips. From the shape of cutting chips, such as long chips, wide chips  and roll chips, all these will effect the deep hole processing.

3. Reasonable guidance

Because of the large draw ratio of drilling hole diameter and drilling length, long drill shank with low rigidity and easy to cause shake, it will effect the hole’s skewness and processing precision. So when drilling, the guidance of hole would be very necessary.
