Internal chip removing tool is the most common tooling in deep hole processing. Compared with external chip removing tooling(that is to say the gun drilling tools), the working principle of them are different: for the BTA deep hole processing, the high pressure oil enter into the cutting area through the space between the drill tube and wall of hole, and remove the chips through the inside hole.
And following is the characteristic of BTA drilling:
1.For the chips are removed from the internal part of the drill tube,it won’t scrape the surface of the workpiece, thus we can get a good roughness.
2.Because the surface of the drill tube is circle, and its twist rigidity and bending strength is higher than gun drills, so we can adopt big feed volume for high processing efficiency.
3.Because of the big chip removing space, and the coolant and lubrication’s pressure is low, usually 0.5--3MPa. As a consequence, the sealing requirement and oil supply system are not so strict than gun drilling system.
4.For BTA deep hole processing, it usually with a big processing arrange.
5.Internal chip removing drilling is not only for drilling holes, but also expand the hole when there is enough allowance.
